My only criticism of the car is that the paintwork is easily scratched.

Great car for the money, excellent ride , super driving position, smooth, reliable M.P.G I am getting 51 to the Gallon with the 1000 cc Ecoboost engine, 6 spd gearbox smooth , the turbo gives superb acceleration for a small engine . Ford are on a winner with this model

Despite its age it has proven to be a very reliable car

GOOD PRACTICAL EVERYDAY WORKHORSE. BRILLIANT ENGINE, COMFY ON LONGER JOURNEYS, RELIABLE [TOUCH WOOD] AND FAIRLY SPACIOUS. DOES WHAT IT SAYS ON THE TIN!

In general I am happy with this car. The main problem I have is the windscreen, the dashboard reflects onto the screen and interferes with visibility. All round visibility could be improved. I have recently found out that the car is fitted with a tank which holds some sort of exhaust cleaner fluid, even our local garage did not know about this.

The Ford Focus Convertible is one of the few hard top versions still available now. It's acceleration and performance are good though it's fuel economy is only average. Also, the 2 ltr model is in a higher road tax bracket. Space in the interior is restricted, although there is plenty of room in the boot when the roof is up. Unlike some reports, I have had no problems with leaks from the roof. The beauty of this car is that it provides open top motoring at an affordable price.

In 40 years of driving this is the best car I've ever owned. The performance is great, holds the road as though it's on rails and the acceleration is wonderful - I can't bear a car that's slow pulling away and this certainly isn't. The running costs are low, mileage is very good, better on motorway driving than around town obviously, but on a full tank of diesel and driving on motorways I can get over 700 miles to a tank. Even when it's needed work doing because it's such a popular model the parts and labour are very cheap. It's very comfortable, can happily drive for 8 hours a day without feeling tired or uncomfortable. The car was 6 years old when I had it and I've had it for 6 years and it's never let me down: starts first time. It's spacious enough for 5 people inside and the boot's very spacious - holds 4 suitcases easily. I intend to keep it as long as I possibly can but when I do have to replace it it'll be with another Focus.

Good all round. Not fantastic, needs cruise control for long journeys

This is the fourth Ford I have owned over a period of 40 years, the previous ones being Escorts. I have found them all to be comfortable and reliable within the price range I can afford. I have always bought new and kept each car for a fair length of time, with servicing and MOT carried out by the dealer from whom I purchased them. I have a particularly good loyalty 4 year deal on servicing with my current dealer, which removes worries about sudden big bills.

A good motorway cruiser with very good consumption figures especially on motorway runs. Around 50mpg on long runs, but nearer 40mpg around town. Low road tax and so far low maintenance costs add to the appeal, although comfort on long journeys could be better with better lumbar adjustment. The central consol is badly designed, and could be much more functional. There is plenty of space in the back, but the various nooks and crannies for sundry storage throughout the car are badly designed, small and impractical. If I was to get another estate car, would I buy another Focus? Yes .

Great car only had it a few weeks Best feature heated windscreen should be stranded as a safety feature on all cars.

I have driven my Focus for over 10 years. It has over 135,000 miles on the clock and has been all over the country. It has never let me down and has only needed replacement tyres, brakes and minor repairs. I have found the Focus an extremely reliable car and would recommend it to anyone.

Very reliable car, easy. To look after and very good to drive even at a slow pace (speed limit pace) . This is a car we have been very happy with

Briefly, my Ford Focus is reasonably cheap to run - no major problems in the eight years I've had it, very reliable and quite comfortable and practical. My only real issue with the car is it's lack of power. I don't want to be racing about but once when I had a car full of people and the car wouldn't go up a steep hill. The passengers had to get out and walk up!!! I regularly have to change down to third gear to get up not very steep gradients but the general driving experience is very good. For a cheap and reliable run-around I would definitely recommend an old Ford Focus.
