Bought my focus 3 years ago with 79000 miles on the clock now has 126000 on the clock, bought from main dealership in Canterbury Kent, this has been the most reliable car I have owned, it has never had a single fault for the time I've owned the car. The dealership customer service has been fantastic and I will be returning to them when I buy another car in the future.

As a retired person who does not travel often, it is OK for me.

Average fuel economy & reasonably comfortable. Great work horse, I use it to take tolls to allotment and I also load heavy items such as slabs and sand etc and it handles it well. Getting costly to keep on the road now. ECU failure 2 years ago, new brakes this year but always passed MOT with no problems.

ford cars very reliable

Because I sometimes tow a caravan and own a dog I find the ford focus to be a good reliable and practical car. The 1.8 TDCI Engine is both powerful and economical especially over long journeys. The interior is basic but comfortable and the on board equipment is simple and basic to use.

Old Ford focus estate. Over 100k miles. Old minor problems never more than 200 pound repaif bills. Recently passed its MOT only requiring a new exhaust mid section

I have driven 78,000 miles in this car, which is four-and-a-quarter years old. It has never let me down. It drives beautifully in all conditions and I will be sad when I let it go. I fully intend to buy another Focus and plan to test drive the new 1.0 Ecoboost in the near future. If it has the same zip as the 1.8 then I will definitely buy it. That will save me a lot of money, too, since the road tax is minimal and fuel consumption is about 30% less. Kerching!!

The car has good all round vision, is comfortable and has easy to use controls. It sometimes lacks 'pull' on long hills when there isn't a decent 'run-up' to them. Over the period I've had it (from new)I've only had 1 serious problem that I readily remember - one with the ignition coil, which caused it to run unevenly. This was mentioned as being a common problem but Ford have never admitted to a design flaw. It has now over 80,000 miles at an average of 44 mpg and in the past year has had a replacement radiator and work on the brakes - neither of which were diagnosed or fixed properly first time by the authorised Ford main dealer. Recently the car has begun to slip (less than a foot) while parked in gear with the handbrake on on a sloping drive. Overall I consider the Ford Focus to have been a dependable, comfortable car ideally suited to drives of an hour or more and with plenty of space.

Very good fuel economy as long as the vehicle is driven sensibly, and low road tax costs. Completely reliable so far, although I haven't owned the vehicle for long. Performance with this engine is fine for every day use, including longer distance journeys. The engine has sufficient poke for effective overtaking. Handling is reasonable, making the car fun to drive along those twisty country roads. Interior space and comfort are more than adequate, although boot space can be a little limited for larger items (I may be being a little unfair here, as my previous vehicle was an estate). Overall this is a good practical family car - I would be happy to recommend and will probably purchase another one when I renew.

My car is ideal for most situations motorway cruising is fine if a little uncomfortable on longer drives. I've broken down once in 5 years (40000 miles). Interior space is ample. Running costs fairly low. Although 11 years old I don't feel the need to change it.

The fact the the Focus is a convertible makes up for the low mpg. Great fun to drive

Feels very safe. Handles well. Large boot. Plenty of leg room. Very reliable. Would buy another one.

Not too big not too small for growling family - now teenagers. Good sized boot - fits bikes with rear seats down; easy to park in most sized spaces; despite being old still looks relatively new and sporty.
