Generally happy with car - owned from new. Few problems over 8/9 years, 91000 miles.

I have had this car for only 2 months but have already clocked up 2000 miles and find it to be a good car. The mpg is very good averaging for me between 45 and 50. It drives well and is comfortable enough with a few handy gadgets thrown in. As it's a 1600cc engine it is less horse power than I have previously been used to but that said it cruises very well at 80+ mph even with all 4 children on board (2 of whom are adults). My only slight niggle is that when you pull away from a standing start in 1st gear it is a little slower than I would like. This is down to it being a 1.6 however and so to be expected. I'm very happy with it overall.

I've had this Focus Zetec for 7 years, in which I've done 68000 miles, which is a longer time and higher mileage than any previous car, reflecting the fact that it suits my needs well. It has a comfortable front seat and driving position, but the ride is on the firm side and the car is noisy at higher speeds, partly due to the low gearing of the top(5th) gear. So, it's crying out for a 6th gear, as fitted to the new Focus. Also, there's no rest for the left foot and wider shoes can get trapped under the clutch pedal. Again, remedied in the new version. The boot is a decent size, bigger than in the new Focus & the Golf. As I'm over 6 ft tall, there's not a lot of legroom behind me for a rear passenger, but that tends to go with the size of car. The car is fairly easy to park, although the rear view is not good, but no worse than average for the type of car. Steering is very responsive and handling is very good. All in all, a practical, economical vehicle but not well suited as a motorway mile-eater.

I have never owned a Ford before and this is the first automatic I have owned. I bought it 6 years old but with less than 25000 miles on the clock. It is fabulous under stop-start driving conditions - I used to get cramp in my clutch foot in motorway tailbacks, now I can move my left leg around and avoid it. The car is very, very comfortable, especially on long journeys. More importantly, everything works as it would have done when the car was brand new. My main gripes are high road tax (£260 per year) and not very good fuel consumption, but I feel that these are prices worth paying for a comfortable and reliable car. One word of advice - avoid Ford Main Dealers - they are expensive and unreliable in my experience.

Comfortable, easy to drive with excellent driver positioning, very responsive steering. After owning many cars this is the first one my wife has said she really loves to drive and very often beats me to the drivers seat.

Excellent, reliable car . Good with three small grand kids in back and excellent load carrying. It's a ford - what else would i expect ?

My car is practical and that's just what I want. It isn't very sporty, big or powerful. It's not very economical either but it does exactly what I want so enough said.

It's a good car - reliable and quite efficient to run Not particularly luxurious, but does its job. Looking to change in next couple of years .

So far everything working well. But have been reading about problems with diesel particulates filters, especially with low mileage driving, and am wondering whether we should have selected a petrol vehicle.

My current car is my 2nd Focus - the first being an estate. When I retired I decided to get a hatchback. I have had this car 5 years and apart from servicing it has never been in a garage. I have it serviced by the main dealer that I purchased the car from. I am very happy with all aspects of the car and if I decide to change it in the relatively near future I will stick with Ford and probably get a Fiesta.

Could be more economical to run, but cannot fault this car for my needs. But like me, it is getting on a bit now.

Ford's Eco engine is amassing. 1000cc engine giving the performance of a much larger engine with less fuel bills and no road fund to pay. Car is spacious and comfortable with all the hans free gadgets you could wish for.

Does what it says on the tin. If it wasnt for a little penney pinching and the ford dealers it would be much better
