Bought this car 3 years ago when in it was just a 1 year old. At the time I wanted a bigger car (upgraded from an awful Renault Clio - diesel), a petrol driven car - for more oomph and something that with be reliable with not too many miles on the clock. Oh, and a nice spacious boot. I got it all really. This car handles well at motorway speeds is not bad re petrol economy and looks nice too. It also has features like electric windows, connector available for my iphone, auto off indicators and has a really good all round peripheral vision - I'm just about 5 foot so this is important for me. The seat adjuster is good for shorties like me too.

I find this car to be adequate for our family but with 3 adults in the back it is a bit of a squeeze. when the seats are folded in the back you can get quite a lot of luggage in it.smooth ride with a quiet engine. Minus side... short seat belts and front windows do not clear when wound down so there is a need to scrape manually first thing in the winter or after rain. I tend to drive with the front windows down to start with as I only drive 1 mile to work. Rear heated window takes forever to defrost also

Ford Focus is cheap to buy and cheap to run. The car can carry a lot. We have a dog guard fitted, there is a special Ford one for the car, it even has special slots to fit the dog guard to. Handling is brilliant, the only thing with the 1.6 diesel is it can be a bit sluggish but it picks up well on the motorway so it's forgiveable. We only own one car between two of us and this car suits for all practical purposes. We've been on long (700+ mile) trips with it on a few occasions, it's performed well and is comfortable after hours of driving. Servicing is well priced and parts are plentiful so they're cheap. It might seem a boring choice but it's a brilliant car. I just wish we'd gone for the larger engine...

Generally a very good reliable car. Not as comfortable as my previous Volvo. Tyre noise loud a times partly due to road surfaces.

Reliable car at the right price. Comfort levels and acceleration is what I expected. Fuel consumption is lower than claimed and lower than what I expected.

I do over 20,000 miles a year and it has always been a good runner, engine size a bit big for the miles i do, so the cost of petrol each month is quite high

I have been very pleased with the performance of our car. Since we purchased it two years ago we have had NO problems with it whatsoever. More reliable than I thought it would be for a Ford.

While the gearbox is nice and smooth and the servicing costs are reasonable, if you opt for the Ford value service (including MOT), the running costs for an automatic petrol can be prohibitive. The ride quality is good and there is a lot of practical, useable space - I have moved house in this car several times and managed to fit all but the bulkiest items in. A good car but buy the 1.8 diesel if economical running costs are important.
