The car is ideal for all my family needs. It is economic and reliable and is avast improvement o the Ford cars of the past.

A slight concern having a 1000cc engine rated at 125HP but the performance is excellent. The only minor drawback is that the fuel consumption although good it is not as expected from the company's performance statistics.

Good for its class, cheap to buy and relatively cheap to run (except car tax). Good as a run around (social/domestic travel). But now lacks refinement and "guts" - takes forever to accelerate! But still does a good job and is easy to drive. Few problems and of the three I've had were cheap and quick to fix.

The ford focus mk2 in my opinion is an opportunity missed. On paper it looks a spacious and cheap to run family car. In reality however, it has proven to me to be expensive to maintain with faults occurring on quite a regular basis and niggly little faults I have just learnt to live with. The problems almost all relate to the electrical system (engine management, central locking etc) which are either expensive to repair or difficult to diagnose. In summary it is a car I still enjoy to drive but would of perhaps steered clear of if I knew what problems it would have in store for me.

The car is everything we expected but it does lack power from a standing start and when travelling up hills. If you are in the market for this car try a test drive in the 1 litre. I was loaned one of these when my car went in for a service and it will catch pigeons!

Great for the dog - very economical with petrol and insurance - I call it my donkey as I have fitted so much into it when helping people to move house - has been totally reliable

This car has a diesel particulate filter (DPF)which often gets clogged if you do not do frequent (once a week) motorway journeys. The DPF is very expensive to replace or rectify. Get a petrol Focus if you can.

My car has been reliable, good starter, but the locking system goes a bit haywire when wet and cold. Not great on petrol consumption, but it has a lot of useful space. Overall very pleased with it.

A nice solid car to drive, plenty of power from the 115 version of the 1.8ltr diesel engine and fairly good fuel consumption. Shame about the reliabilty though, Turbo broke after it was 5 yrs old (70k miles) then the crankshaft chewed itself to bits after 96k miles. The car was well looked after and regulary serviced but has cost a pretty penny to keep it on the road with other repairs too, starter motor, batteries, alternator.

I have owned this car for two years. I am very happy indeed with the performance, economy, comfort and reliability. The car is very responsive in all aspects of performance. If I had to make one criticism, it would be that the turning circle is quite wide for a medium size car. I previously owned a large VW Passat Saloon, and the turning circle was a fair bit tighter than the Focus.

A practical workhorse which does the job expected of it

Reliable, very good boot space for size of car, rear visibility could be better.

A brilliant allround performance car. But don't buy it and then complain about the MPG, you shouldn't have gone for an ST or any other performance car for that matter if that's a consideration.

The estate car was purchased because my mother was in a wheelchair at the time and it was very easy to get the wheelchair in and out of the back. Also the front seat is a good height for my mother to get in and out of the car. Unfortunately she has passed away now and we thought about getting a smaller car but this car is very easy to manoeuvre and we car get such a lot in the boot area, very handy for shopping and taking things down the dump. We have even got a 3 seater settee in.

Good, reliable workhorse. Has problems, but what car is perfect in the very low price range. All cars break sometime.

One breakdown in 7 yrs. due to alternator, at 50,000 miles. I can get 73 mpg on long journeys and avg.48 on a weekly basis. It can 'kick' when necessary, is very quiet and needs very little maintenance. Plenty of boot space which can be increased by adjusting seats, great heater, and the 'basic' audio has a great sound. Not a single complaint. Love it.

Excellent car, brilliant in the snow. Reliable, comfortable. Easy to get repaired. Due to age not great on petrol for short journeys. Will most likely replace when ready with the same make and model.

I am pleased with my car for many reasons. I gave a friend a lift last week and he said the ride was as good as his BMW. I find the car quiet, responsive and nice to drive. Being an estate it has lots of room for anything I need to carry, being only six inches less than my previous VOLVO estate. to sum up . A good car.
