Although now 8 years old this car has proved a reliable and comfortable workhorse since purchased 5 years ago. In that time it has covered just over 80000 miles; and apart from parts that needed replacing through normal wear and tear; the only problem was with a component in the air conditioning system that was replaced inexpensively by our local independent garage. The car appears to be well bolted together and it has yet to develop any of the rattles and squeaks that one might expect of a car of this age. On a motorway run it still gets just over 60mpg and close to that when loaded with 5 adults and a few suitcases, only maginally down from the milage acheived when first purchased with 40000 miles on the clock. Being a Ford, spare parts that may be required for services are easily obtainable and relatively cheap. Although I am looking to change this vehicle early next year my experience with this car means that it is very likely to be replaced with a newer version of the same model.

Generally quite a nice car, but in my opinion the overall pleasure is spoiled by horrible push-button heater controls and an a/c that is only shown as 'On' by a tiny indication on an LCD screen. Being automatic the car is thirsty and the dealer service has not been good otherwise the running costs would be good.

Excellent car but heavy on petrol and with high road tax. Bodywork, especially bumpers, quick to show marks and scratches.

Apart from wear and tear and regular servicing the car has never needed attention. Reliability is excellent. It has plenty of seating space and a very large boot easily taking 2 sets of golf clubs and 2 trolleys. Good also for suitcases. Only slight negative is the mpg. I get an average of 35 mpg with a mixture of local journeys and a few longer jouneys on motorways/A roads. This is the only thing I would loom to improve with my next car. It is a big car but my wife manages it well. The parking sensors are certainly a help.

I have owned and driven a variety of cars over the last 48 years, Fords, Vauxhalls, BMC, Rootes, Nissan's (Datsun), VW, Renault, Peugeot, Toyota, Land Rover and many others. My current car is the best car I have ever owned.

A very good comfortable car. Driven properly I am a taxi driver a very good return on fuel. Cons:- Boot problem lots of excess water gets trapped in the channels, quite a bit of road noise caused I think from the boot dropping slightly.

I am very pleased with my Mondeo. I have had it from new and it has been a joy to drive and has been very reliable. It is very roomy and comfortable and although I don't actually need such a big car now I shall keep it until it costs too much to keep on the road, due to repairs caused by wear and tear.

I bought the car because at the time we needed an estate with a large rear to move bulky items. Most of our driving is motorway/dual carriageway using cruise control. By careful use of the right foot we can achieve an average of 47.8mpg although due to a lot of town driving recently that is currently down to 43.0mpg. The car was bought as a low mileage ex-demo car & initially we had problems with the dash electronics & had to have 2 replacement display consoles. No problems for the last 8 years. Servicing is done by a local non-main-agent garage which keeps costs down. If you want a fairly economical larger family estate that does its jobwithout any excitement, then this may be the car for you.

Good practical car. can get 50m.p.g. on a run. Reliable and reasonably cheap to maintain, any garage can work on it. Can carry people and luggage or the garden rubbish.

First time I have owned a Mondeo or any Ford. Chose it because of the price (from Ford UK) and also because I needed a large car to tow a caravan. After initial stress re the size (larger than previous car) have found the car to be excellent is all aspects. Fuel consumption is good ands am very pleased

Very reliable, more than ample storage space, comfortable on long and short journeys. Specification very good. Petrol consumption could be better.

A change of job and more importantly a change in travel distance to that job made me consider owning a diesel for the first time. Not sure if I would get on with one I purposely opted to get an older, cheaper car than usual so that I could quickly swap again without really losing any money. Often used as a "rep mobile" the mondeo is a comfortable cruiser that can eat up motorway miles allowing you to arrive at your destination feeling fresh. Being a diesel, there is less horse power than an equivalent sized petrol car which may make people think twice but the high levels of torque more than makes up for it. Running costs are reasonable, most of my drivung is mixed urban and that equates to 45mpg without trying and it is much better if you use the motorway often. Insurance is low however the road tax on this particular car is towards the upper end but of course this improves with newer models. Service costs are reasonable as well. There is plenty of space in the Mondeo. I am above average height (and width) but there is pleny of leg and head room in the front and back of the car. The boot is very well sized and with the back seats folded down you can visit B&Q (other DIY stores are available) at the weekends with confidence.

Very comfortable long distance cruiser that will return 60 mpg if you stick to a steady 65 - 70mph. Brilliant tow car with 1500kg caravan on back. Will deffo buy another now we are up to 85,000 with NO faults - replaced front discs and exhaust (once).
