It's a great workhorse in every way , the only criticism is the mpg compared against a VW Passat 42 in the Ford 50 in the VW , both automatics .The Ford is more comfortable, more spacious & better to drive.

This the newest car we have owned and bought with our son. Apart from the EGR failing and needing replacing, we are very pleased with it!

Large roomy estate car, comfortable on long journeys. Economical running costs, smart looking, well built. Capable of carrying 4 adults and all their luggage. Superb 2 litre Diesel engine plenty of power for overtaking yet docile in traffic. Good safety equipment. The perfect estate car at a reasonable price.

The Ford Mondeo is ideal for older drivers in as much as it is easy to drive, plenty of inner space and reasonable boot space. My wife feels much safer in a larger car as it gives the appearance and feel of being buffered from the outside and other vehicles. It has a comfortable ride with good seating and leg room, and with plenty of window space to look through. The only downside I have found is the cost of the Tax and slightly lower fuel consumption.

This is my third Mondeo petrol automatic estate; it's not a cheap car to run, though they're available second hand at modest cost, and parts are readily available. They do have their faults, but keep going nevertheless. It carries a big load, handles well, and is good in poor weather and winter conditions. It's a pleasure to drive, whether motorway cruising, on rural trunk roads, or on narrow single track roads.

Very roomy and comfortable car. Good performance with plenty of goodies as standard. Easy to drive but due to size requires care when maoevering in tight spaces.

I am a keen golfer and bought the car because of the available space. I am able to carry 3 persons, their golf bags, powercadies and changes of clothes with ease.

I have had the car for 10 years now and I have found it reliable and comfortable. It is starting to show it's age now and more needs to be done to keep it on the road but after 190000 miles it has done everything I have asked of it. I would seriously consider buying another one. The only reason to change it in the next year or so is because technology has moved on I feel I would benefit from a more modern car.

Very comfortable car. Slightly thirsty on fuel. Heated windscreen is the best feature and a dream to use in winter. Tows a caravan very well and is stable. Radio aerial is poor.

This is great car very smooth and reliable. Just been through its first service, done 7000 miles only replaced a tyre due a screw sticking the side wall after 1000 miles!!. Got Windsor leather seats upgrade these are really really good and make easy on long journeys. Lots of room inside car , drives very easy great on fuel . Road tax is just £105 a year !!!

I get an average of 43 mpg except when towing, which I'm fairly happy with. So far I've had no maintenance issues with the car, but there are a couple of annoying noises which we've failed to track down. Seating comfortable; boot a really useful size; tow well.

A very comfortable car which has served me well over a number of years and still going strong. Most repairs have been to do with the front suspension area. Rust will be its downfall, but I do live in a very damp area.

This car is my second Mondeo, both having been bought through main dealers as 15-month old ex-fleet cars with low-ish mileage, in good condition and well-maintained. It is now serviced by a local garage. The present car has proved excellent, being comfortable and roomy, with ample rear legroom. I achieve around 40 mpg (slightly higher in summer and lower in winter). I value the heated windscreen, both for de-icing in frosty weather and de-misting on a chilly morning. The controls are mostly convenient and easy to use (with the exception of the headlight dip switch: the older car's two-position switch was far superior to the newer car's 'click for on, click again for off'). Other niggles? The wash/wipe stalk was replaced under warranty, as the washer button tended to stick (apparently a common problem). The fuel filler cover flap refused to unlock one summer until the cable had been adjusted. The air conditioning on the newer car needs topping up every year, whereas its predecessor went five years without attention. All really minor things which hardly detract from the quality of the car or the enjoyment I get from using it. Oh, and the only bulb that has needed replacing - on either car, in over fourteen years - has been a single number-plate light! Remarkable.

I have owned 3 Mondeos since 1998 and say hand on heart the current model nad the one previous were / are the best cars I have owned, for comfort, ease of handling, plenty of power which is useful for overtaking and loads of passenger and boot room. Should anything happen to this one it would be replaced with another Mondeo. The specifications are Diesel, Manual Gear Box, 2 Litre Turbo.
