Large car with plenty of space and very comfortable. Suits my needs very well although maybe I could use a slightly smaller car. However, with the need to carry golf clubs and associated equipment, passengers and for the occasional long holiday trips the Ford Mondeo suits very well. Allowing for the above I am willing to accept a slightly higher mpg and running costs than the economies of a smaller car. To date the Mondeo has been very reliable and low on maintenance costs and has a very comfortable smooth ride. Would recommend this car for anybody who needs or likes a larger car but is unwilling to pay the prices or running costs of the more fashionable marques of car such as Audi, BMW or Mercedes Benz.

I have had my Ford Mondeo for two years (second hand) and have had no major problems. It seems a bit more efficient than my previous car (Ford Escort). It also has ample luggage carrying capability.

My second mondeo estate, my first diesel. Cavernous carrying capacity, good solid if slightly noisy engine. Grips the road like a big go cart with performance that belies its size. Wish it was as economical as Ford claim - best on a long journey has been 50mpg but averages only 42mpg. Comfortable but carpet could fit better. Roof bars should be standard, Ford bolt on roof bars mark the roof line - bad show Ford. Standard exhaust system useless and rotted through on the welded mounting points in only 3 years - common fault but not acknowledged by Ford.

I am totally pleased with my car. Much better than similar models from other manufacturers

I bought the car for £200 3 years ago as a temporary run about when my previous car packed up. I wasn't expecting much but it has proved to be an excellent car and an absolute bargain. Apart from the usual service items such as oil, filters and tyres etc I've barely had to spend any money on it.

Probably the best car I have ever owned and except for an electrical fault with the dash board it has been very reliable. Fuel consumption has been quite good at around 45 - 50 miles per gallon. The car is very comfortable except for a lack of a decent arm rest during longer journeys

Nice relatively comfortable drive. Fuel economy ok for size. Parts not too expensive. Diesel pump issues around 100 - 150k are common and can be expensive to rectify.

This is a superb car and has a very good build quality. Very comfortable and quiet, excellent for long distance cruising. Very well appointed with no unnecessary gimmicks. Performs well, good acceleration and cruises at legal limit effortlessly. Handling, roadholding and braking are all excellent. Economy good, but as car has so far done few miles I expect this to improve considerably as the car settles down. Space for passengers and luggage is excellent. The only disadvantage is that due to its size care has to be taken when parking. Overall this is a vehicle of high quality.

Bought car from new. Favourably comparable to similar makes in performance etc. but much cheaper. Attractive, reliable has never gone wrong in 8 years. Relative to other makes of car it is cheaper to service. Being a Gia it has lots of extras as standard that puts it above much more expensive makes of car. Very satisfied and will probably run until it starts costing money in repairs and replacements.

the best car that l have owned it has never let me down loads of room inside you can carry stuff inside this car that other cars would need a roof rack to carry

Bought the car second hand in 2005. Reliable over the years used driving to work and very comfortable and spacious for family holidays. Reluctant to change but is rather expensive in using petrol for local motoring since retired.

I will be very reluctant to give up this car, despite the moderately high running costs approaching £900 per year, as it is so very comfortable (including on longer runs of several hundred miles) and totally reliable. The ability to accelerate to 60 mph or more, when required, is adequate, the boot is cavernous and can easily accommodate garden plants and accessories, gardening being my main hobby. With an mpg of 32-34 over all and aged 11 years, the consumption is quite acceptable while it would take almost 11 years to offset the cost of a comparable replacement. I have looked at a few possible replacements but find none of them are a patch for comfort while road noise internally is unacceptably high compared to the Mondeo.

Very long. Has never let me down. Not very comfy. Heavy. lots of irritating things broken on it and are too dear to mend. central locking. Cigarette lighter. Boot doesn't stay up. Petrol cap doesn't lock. Electric windows don't work. Doors get stuck. Air con poor. Window takes long time to clear. Otherwise the car is great.
