Only major problem was the clutch wearing out after two years. Renault met some of the replacvement costs but I was angry that it happened and they of course im plied it was my driving! Boot is not big enough when loading suitcases and other holiday gear. I have driven long hours in it and not felt tired. Generally very reliable and reasonable on fuel.

I have had my car for 13 years and have been very happy with it overall. The lower scores reflect the age of the car because of the need to replace various parts over time. When I first bought it and for most of the time it was easy to drive, comfortable and felt safe when motorway driving. It is only in the last few years that it has become less reliable. I will be very sorry when it eventually 'dies'

Had a few minor problems like the central locking no longer working on the rear passenger door. Other then that a bit of stalling in cold conditions it runs fine. It is more fuel efficient then my 1.0 fiat Uno and alot more spacious.

Moved from a Megane2 petrol estate to a Megane 3 Diesel Estate, both Auto Models Pros Fuel Consumption Much Better, Performance (generally) much better Automatic Box much better Cons Less Space FAR less cabin storage Far Less Load Space Seats less comfortable FAR more noisy Drivability less appealing Cabin air filter just impossible to maintain (what were Renault thinking off?) In general wish I'd stayed with the old Megane 2 even allowing for higher fuel costs

My current car is a Megane and this is the 6th Megane that I have owned. All the cars have been reliable and extremely satisfactory. Two of the cars have been passed on to family members, who have been pleased with them.

a good car let down by french electrics, you should not need to avoid multi storey car parks in case your electric windows wont open or close. a low mileage example that i've owned for 4 years and in the first 2 years all discs have been replaced before the car had even covered 36k.

I inherited this car when my father passed away, it was only three and a half years old at the time. Since then both front door window winder motors (rusted) have had to be replaced separately (one with the door loom as well), the turbo inter-cooler and the air con supply pipe have also had to be replaced. Each of these at a local main dealer was in the region of £400 each. Admittedly Renault made a contribution after I complained each time to customer care but for a virtually new car this is not acceptable. Since then we have an intermittent fault with the reversing bleeper and bulbs blow in the dip lights regally (these are so difficult to replace that I have to drive 20 miles to the main dealer to fit) Last replacement bulb the car came back with the dip lights pointing at 45 degs down at the road making the car un-drivable at night. This was fixed by the dealer and after a dispute they agreed at no cost to me. The car is a money pit and I will be replacing it in the near future. My father always bought Renault cars since he used to rally for the marque in the 50's in 750's and Douphine's but this one is either jinxed or badly designed. I suspect the latter as it is far too complicated! What ever happened to keep fit window winders? Best wishes a future VW owner!

Dynamique model So so car. Somewhat noisy. Cooling is a joke in warm weather. Best to open the window. Heating efficiency goes down as car gets older. Have had three windows suffer from window motor failure. Even with the 70%+ goodwill it cost £130 per window to fix. Cambelt needs replacing at five years at cost of around £400. Slow to accelerate.

Very comfortable, great to drive and has been good so far. Not practical if you want to take more than two people any distance and hopeless as it only seats 4 and not 5 people, which we find means we take two cars instead of one on some occasions. Had to replace the back window motor recently, it is tiny but cost us a fortune to replace the motor, whereas the larger front window motor is a quarter of the price to replace. We can't see why that should be. Overall we love the car though.

Great car generally , lots of kit for the money . Comfortable on long journeys . There are some annoying water leaks in boot and door side pocket. Also keyless entry can give bother. Overall a lot for your money including auto lights, wipers, locks , keyless start etc, etc. Would recommend to others . Mr A Smith

I have had this car 2 and half years. I have had the usual running costs, the drivers window leaks a little when it rains but overall I am very please with it and when I up grade in the next 18 months to 2 years I will probably go with a similar model.

Essentially a good car, but as it gets older - things are starting to go wrong - to be expected I suppose. At least parts are not too expensive and are readily available.

I use this for getting up/down the M4. Have had no issues so far.

A model no longer available but coming with satnav, parking sensors front and rear and cruise control as standard plus many other features. It has been a comfortable, reliable car though not light on fuel. Servicing is every 18000 miles and taking advantage of the Renault monthly service debit avoids any concerns about large servicing bills. A good looking car with its performance ideal for a middle aged to elder family man e.g. carries three grand children in the back.
