Had an slk230 komp before which I loved. It broke and was not viable to repair.I was lucky to be able to take my time to choose a new car that was better suited to my needs at my age.I had heard great opinions of the modern Skodas and the Fabia looked to fit the bill.I must say ,after 8 months, I am absolutely delighted with my Fabia, which is 6 years old with low mileage and would recommend them to anyone.

My yellow Fabia is very economical in all aspects: Tax Insurance Fuel Would highly recommend.

This is not the fanciest car or the most well equipped car but it is remarkably economical , using no more petrol in my commute than my previous 1.4 litre Fabia. It is also the best cornering/road-holding car I have ever had , capable of doing a 90 degree bend at 30mph, without ever losing its line.I have had no problems with it in the two and a half years I have owned it. A good compromise between running costs and performance.

Excellent little runner, very economic, steep hills can slow you down, even more so with the air con on[its only got 3 cylinders]but if you keep it in mind its not a problem.I would recommend these cars.

i bought this for commuting - then was made redundant before delivery! my husband liked the car so much, we decided to keep it as the 'family car' and he switched to a van for work. we find it good as a runabout, but it behaves like a bigger car on our longer runs.

Nice car. If you use the gear stick you can get low-end sporty performance. The 1.6 common rail diesel has excellent bottom end torque with fairly good economy: It's averaged 58mpg over 30k miles 50%/50% town and long distance. It's comfy, has adequate storage especially when the back seats are folded down. Its downsides are: just small petty things: 1) if you drive in the rain then the wing mirrors get covered in water droplets and you can't use them properly ... everything becomes a blur; 2) in the rain if you have the drivers window open slightly you get covered in water! ---- Clever design to suck rain in!; 3) the resistor pack for the heater blower fails like there is no tomorrow .... Costs a packet to get it replaced only to have it fail again within a few months; 4) wheel tracking is a major problem: the tyres wear out very quickly .... there's an inherent design problem somewhere that causes the tracking to get out of sync within a few months of it having been retracked (Gets expensive!); windscreen wipers need replacing almost annually .... they split in the middle and you can only buy whole units which make it very expensive. Nice things: Comfort; dashboard; roominess for this type of car; economy; radio/CD player; positive gearbox; .... but most of all, just what a nice EASY car it is to drive .... :) :) Rating overall: This could be a brilliant car apart from the basic failures of things that should not fail. Would I buy another one? Not quite a no ... My next car will be a Skoda Octavia Estate .... Why? Because it has that extra flexibility for boot capacity.

I have been aware of the Skoda brand and its improved image and performance over the past 15 or more years. We were looking for a new car and had tried many dealerships when my wife suggested we try a Skoda dealership. We instantly liked the look of the vehicles. When we test drove the car was extremely smooth and comfortable to drive. The car feels very solid and safe. Although the engine size is 1.2 it's quick off the mark and powerful. It has a VW Engine. Very pleased with my change to Skoda!

I really love this car. There is so much car for the money. Superb gadgets, like the holder for car park tickets, loads of space, and fantastic acceleration when you need it. Also sports mode on the gears, and manual if you really must. This is the best car I have ever had,and will certainly have another if I can ever bear to part with this one.

Overall I find my car acceptable to my needs.

Car regularly returns 58 - 63 MPG on a run. Steady 60MPH without hard acceleration up to speed, with no harsh braking. Let the car gather speed without forceful throttle. The only trouble I have with the car is a warped dual mass flywheel which Skoda would not replace under warranty (the clutch was replaced under duress). As such with 58k on the clock, it is now on its second clutch because the clutch faces and flywheel faces don't bite together properly, causing a nasty judder under pull away. To rectify this, the cheapest quote for a new flywheel/clutch kit is £1200 fitted! Also the car once warm will not go into 2nd gear without a loud crunch (bent syncro rings!)

Great wee inexpensive car.

A stylish, well equipped and well built small hatchback with excellent performance and road manners. Steering is very light but precise, roadholding and refinement are both of a very high standard. It feels equally at home in traffic or on longer journeys. Fuel economy is excellent, never dipping below the mid 40s, even in appalling South London winter traffic, and easily exceeding 60 mpg on a motorway run. Overall, a very good car which I would unhesitatingly recommend.

Comfortable but with a very hard ride. Nowhere near as economical as the consumption figures suggest - less economical than the original Greenline, even though the engine is smaller. The power required if one needs to use the air conditioning makes the vehicle very sluggish. Underpowered when compared to the original Greenline.

We have had a great 12 years. Regular services and MOT only, just one major problem about 5 years after getting the car.

For a 1.4cc fuel consumption is terrible and as for the electrics there should have been a RECALL..as the wiring loom (under the bonnet) is prone to rotting which has caused endless problems and costs..apart from that not to bad.

This car is ideal for us as a small family. Plenty of space in the boot for the buggy, shopping etc. With 170bhp it is also quick but not too pricy on the fuel and tax due to the 1.4 engine size. Very easy to drive.

I have had this car for over 7 years and it has been thoroughly reliable. As I am 6ft 4in tall I tried several cars for the driving position/comfort and this was the only one suitable. I have spent very little on repairs: just a couple of tyres. I would/will buy the same model again when I change it!

The Fabia is the third Skoda I have owned (Octavia plus 2 Fabias) and all have been totally reliable.Servicing costs are good and the dealership helpful. As we now have small grandchildren the Fabia is proving to be a little small and we would hope to buy a Yeti next time depending on costs.

My Skoda is easy to get into and comfortable to drive on long distances. It is easy on fuel and so far has cost me nothing in repairs.
