Generally high quality build (Built in Germany) it has a CDTI fuel system, but the fuel ecconomy is nothing special. Note that GM have a habit of removing features from their models as they age. So it comes with 1/2 'Pleather trim' which gives the steering wheel a distincly tacky feel. the vehicle was supplied with a glossy console in which a number of the Buttons were non functional. It took a lot of research to find out how to enable the trip computer, which is essental to get the most out of a tank of fuel. Otherwise a nice to drive spacious, holds the road well, 6 speaker audio system is nice for Britains congested roads.

My Astra is my first Vauxhall and I have been very satisfied with it. Well built, no problems, comfortable and a pleasure to drive. If I bought another one I would go for a larger engine for better performance, but the 1300cc model is no slouch if you use your gears. Fuel consumption is average at best, probably due to the size of the car and its small engine. One of the best cars I have owned.

Comfortable, quiet and roomy, and being an estate car it has a huge boot. However it is very expensive to run in terms of road tax.

Fast, sporty, responsive. I have only knocked one star off performance because I don't like the electronic hand brake. I would much prefer a manual - but then I have been driving for 40 years with a manual brake!

This car has served me well - it has been AA garage maintained. Rather disappointed with the quality of the plastic interior fittings though - always seem to be gluing them back together!

Bought this car last year and have really enjoyed driving the car. It looks really smart since it is a bright yellow colour and really stands out in a crowd. Never thought I would own a really brightly coloured vehicle like this one.

For 16 years I drove Saab cars. I decided to downsize. On the whole I'm fairly satisfied. But am not happy about the fuel consumption, which is worse than my Saabs were. I get a maximum of 34 mpg - not good enough.

Road tax is expensive. My mileage is relatively low so running costs have been reasonable: insurance is cheap and so is servicing. The car itself has an awful problem with condensation even to the extent that water will regularly freeze on the inside on the windscreen in winter. Handling in snow and ice is extremely poor and I've been stuck on a couple of occasions when others cars have got through.

I've had this car now for 10 years and it has been the most reliable car I have ever owned. My previous car a Peugeot suffered with an astronomical amount of electrical faults so my choice of the 8 valve Astra was based on the fact it had very few electrical items on board. And I'm so glad I made this choice. It has never failed an MOT, its cheap to service and has all the performance I need. No it doesn't have an array of electrical gizmos but that's why it's been so reliable and you can live without electric windows and mirrors and built in sat nav. Just think the next time you buy a car. What went wrong with your old one. I would bet 9 times out of 10 it was some electrical part that cost a small fortune to replace. Now days car body's don't rust like they did years ago. Engines last well over 100.000 miles but the little black box that controls everything will break some sensor that monitors fuel exhaust etc will fail and it will cost a fortune to replace. My car is now 13 years old and a great number of newer cars have been scrapped because of an electrical fault that wasn't cost effective to fix.

This car was bought as a stopgap measure following the writing off of my previous car due to flood damage. It has plenty of space and is comfortable and economic to run. It has high mileage and so will need replacing within a couple of years. It proved very reliable during the last extended winter.

Very good all-round performance, good acceleration, excellent automatic transmission, love the heated seats; would like more leg room for rear seats.

I have owned this vehicle from new. It's a design model Which is a top trim model for body style. However several buttons on the centre console performed no function. I was surprised to learn that GM have a habit of removing features from there models as the models age. As is usual in the UK. it would appear that maintenance staff training does not extend beyond the absolute essentail for the job in hand. Watch service schedules as the dealers do not always include all of the items on the schedule. Otherwise to date the most reliable vehicle I have ever owned. It's a german built vehicle, let down by a so, so dealer network!

An excellent, reliable vehicle apart from some expensive problems with folding roof wiring ! Not very economicle but that doesn't matter as I dont do more than 6000 miles per year and very much enjoy motoring 'sans' roof. No mechanical problems whatsoever. Would recomend the new Cascada to any perspective buyer based on my experience with the Twintop. D.J.J. 14/10/13.
