The vectra has been a reliable vehicle and it has been reasonable on running costs. It is not the most stylish of cars but is reasonably practical being a traditional estate car.

I have found the Vectra to be a reliable car, with parts readily available, it has a lot of space for luggage and passengers, and drives and rides well

I bought my car over 10 years ago when it was nearly three years old and it has been very reliable. If it was still made I would buy exactly the same car. It has done 100,000 miles and still going strong. The only problems with it is the car tax is now £225 because of size of engine, and the low miles per gallon around town. I will be sorry to see it go as its become part of the family and everyone that knows me, knows the car.

My first diesel car drives OK BUT does not give mileage I expected therefore with high price of fuel it is dear to run. But much better car all round than my previous Signum which was not a good car

Very quick and economical for its size. Quiet and reasonably comfortable but the interior seems a little cramped. There is a lack of storage spaces and those present are cramped.

comfortable car the road noise is higher than expected. The built in sat nav is adequate but not a projection view only map based and you are offered an annual update costing £90. The rear seating folds flat to give a large space for goods. There a vulnerable component the air conditioning condenser, this is located in front of the engine radiator and lower, there is a plastic grill that should protect it but has holes that allow stones through, I have had the condenser damaged and it is expensive, the garage also fitted an extra piece of mesh in the front of the manufactures grill.

This is an old car, but extremely reliable, comfortable and with an excellent turning circle. Well worth keeping it!

Their appears to be common faults on this type of car, the ABS indication stays illuminated on the dashboard, I've had this checked out on 3 occasions yet no fault can be found. Bushes also tend to go on these cars very often

Having a sturdy 2000cc diesel engine to cope with motorway driving I am very happy getting 56mpg, plus the cruise control is ideal for long periods of driving on motorways and the number of airbags gives a feeling of confidence that you are protected in case of an accident.

Car performance is suprisingly good for diesel. Had problem with lower back pain when driving previous cars for more than an hour but support and comfort of seat in this car has eleminated that.

This car was bought as my first family car. The space inside is amazing although it's not got many gadgets it I practical and comfortable. Unfortunately it's not very reliable with many common faults that will cost you lots of your hard earned pennies, I've owned mine for. 11 months and it's spent 8 weeks in the garage.

The Vectra 1.8 Club Estate has proved very reliable and economical from new (approx 40mpg average)with only tyres having to be replaced. The large carrying capacity has proved a great advantage. Comfort is good with sufficient leg room for a 6ft 4in driver. Now over eight years old the bodywork and interior are lasting well and it has always passed its MOT test first time. The car handles well, brakes are excellent and steering good. The vision out is slightly restricted by the rather narrow side windows. The great disadvantage (adding considerably to the running costs) is the very unfair road fund tax system imposed by the government on this and similar vehicles based on what they think it may emit from the exhaust. Since my annual milage is approximately 3,000 miles and the car is driven in an economical manner, my carbon dioxide emissions are far lower than average but I am still charged £250 annual tax. If I didn't have to justify this high road fund tax I would use the car less (for only emergency and occasional use and actually emit less carbon dioxide).

My Vauxhall Vectra is now seven years old and I have owned it for six. The mileage is average for the age (73,000) and running costs are reasonable. It is a reliable car, with good m.p.g., and it pulls my caravan effortlessly. It is serviced by a Vauxhall agency regularly, and has had replaced the alternator, water pump and cambelt, windscreen wiper linkage, and the usual brake pads and discs. Tyres have also been replaced through wear and tear. It has also suffered three broken springs, but these were caused by the deplorable state of the roads. All in all, I am very happy with my Vectra, and when the time comes to change it, perhaps Vauxhall's Insignia will fit the bill.

Excellent in every respect, great for towing my caravan. the best car I have ever owned. I cannot believe people buy expensive German cars which are rubbish in my opinion.

I am not a car "fanatic". I am really only interested in getting from A to B in comfort and in reasonable time. In these respects I have been more than happy with my Vectra purchase in 2006. It is a comfortable ride and the running costs have been more than acceptable.

Having had diesel vehicles for many years, I've found my present one that was fine until I retired, doesn't like short journeys and being driven steadily. The modern electronics are very reactive to short journeys and low revs which seems to cause problems with emission controls ie exhaust bypass valves and cat filters. Will buy petrol next time.
