This car was bought to replace a much loved and still reliable mondeo that we had for 13 years so even though I have had it for 18 months now I still compare them. It is comfortable but not as comfortable, it' s a nice looking car but it's black inside and out and therefore harder to keep clean surprisingly. Petrol consumption is more than with the old 1800cc engine - you have to work it more on hills for example. The A/C comes on automatically if you just want the blower on cold so you have to remember to turn it off manually. The parking sensor is a little over zealous and therefore irritating, as is the Bluetooth when it gets things wrong. So far it has proved to be reliable but we have found all our fords to be so. I like it but not as much as my 1997 Mondeo.

A very reliable, practical, stylish and comfortable car. Performance is acceptable, (but we would have prefered a larger engine with the automatic gearbox ). The running costs are acceptable for a vehicle of this age & size. We particularly like the heated front screen & reverse park aid. Plus we have an excellent local main dealer. When we change we're very likely to choose another Focus.

Bought third hand as an ex security services/police(2nd owner). This is the 3rd expolice vehicle I have owned and it is proving everything I expected. The performance, handling and comfort particularly on regular long runs to visit children & grandchildren at 360 miles to the south have all proved well suited to these factors , also for portering furniture for my wife's retirement business. Just a shame that Ford alloys come with very poor protection. Now strongly considering replacing this with a new Focus ST estate on a Personal Loan Plan in the new year.

Owned from new and only been let down once when the battery needed changing! Reliable, comfortable, excellent performance, corners well, paintwork first class a family car and great workhorse. Economy, for the year, as reasonable as expected, but running costs, repairs and spares easy to obtain and very satisfactory. Only a trace of rust on the rear wheel arches which, in hindsight, could possibly have been avoided with cleaning behind the inner wheel arch protection! Not sure how the newer models stand up but I have never had reason to complain about my 'V' Reg Focus Estate.

Totally reliable, 42 miles on clock, serviced every 12 months. However, always requires something replacing. Since purchase at 17,000 miles: Front pads and discs, front ns suspension strut, rear ns wheel bearing, front suspension arms because bushes were worn. Warned replacement front pads and discs required at next service.

I would recommend the Ford Focus Titanium it is a very comfortable and nice car to drive. Lots of extras on this model, good fuel consumption

The car whilst generally reliable has been a bit of a let down with the poor small boot space and cramped rear legroom. I am a small person and therefore have my seat fairly forward when I drive but still people behind me have limited leg room. Fuel consumption is below average and nothing like the manufacturers recorded figures even though I drive with one eye on economy - so for me the deisel option that I choose for good running costs has not materialised. Servicing - always through a manufacturers dealership - has also been more than I had expected and there is always the need to double check the works done as I have found in the past items charged for that have not actually been carried out. The car however has never refused to start first time or let me down whilst out on the road so reliability is good in that respect. Would I buy another - well only if the new Escort has improved on the items mebtioned ie interior space and boot size.

Have the run-out Sports Model - no problems experienced although seat are a but hard. MPG averages 50+ so am happy with that - starts first time every time

Excellent car, surprisingly good performance, nice automatic gearbox, road noise can be excessive on some surfaces. Front seats disappointing, particularly on long runs.

A good driver's car, reasonable cost to run and repair

For a small, affordable little runaround I'm pleasantly surprised with my W reg Focus. Firstly, being 6'7" tall, I was happy to find that I'm not cramped while driving - although if a passenger sits behind me there can be some issues. There is more than enough space in the car for most domestic situations - I've moved large fishtanks in it, moved house with it etc. Performance-wise, it is quite nippy and responsive on the throttle, although "ragging it" does reduce the fuel efficiency somewhat. I tend to get ~350 miles to a tank. This changes to ~450-500 if I'm doing a long stint on a clear motorway, so depending on what sort of driving you'll be doing it's not bad at all. Taking into consideration the fact it is now 13 years old, the model shape looks good, not boxy and "old-loooking", like some citroens for example. Overall? A good car, would recommend to anyone buying a runaround on a tight budget.

I'm very pleased with my Ford Focus - this is the thirs one I've had in succession (having owned many different makes/ models of car over the years). I particularly like its new Eco system - not so much for the environment (I'm not overconcerned, to tell the truth), but it's low tax rate, performance (due to turbo, in spite of smaller engine), fuel economy (auto cut-out/start in traffic, etc) plus general handling and comfort make this a winner for me.

I purchased this car in September 2011 when it was 10 months old.It had a very low mileage and still had the new car smell.Although it is a 2 litre turbo diesel car it is very efficient and cost effective to run even with road tax and insurance added in and my average MPG is between 45/50 for all round running. It has an Eco Boost driving system which helps to indicate how you are driving. As I am partially disabled the fact that it has plenty of controls on the steering wheel together with Bluetooth and voice control is extremely helpful. I used to have a Mondeo so the boot space is obviously smaller which can be a problem if I wish to get a lot in.eg taking rubbish to the recycle centre.

It's a really great car that is extremely economical to run

Having owned 2 previous focus 1.6 cars I am totally impresed by the performance of this new ecoboost focus. It glides on the motorway and has equal power to the old 1.6 engine, but is more refined. The BEST car I've ever had in 33 yrs driving!!!!!!!!

I bought my car when it was 4 years old with only 3000 miles on the clock as it had been owned by one lady as part of a motability scheme. I have been driving it for 10 years and it has been totally reliable during that time, although to be fair it has been kept under a carport and I only drive it once a week. My tyres are normally replaced because they have perished rather than worn down! I have been very satisfied except that the trim on one door has come away in 2 places. I would expect that on an old car but this particular door was replaced 4 years ago after a neighbour backed into my car when I was out. The other 3 older doors are fine so I can only assume that the standard has gone down in recent years and it would influence my decision when buying another car. Before this experience I would most certainly consider another Ford Focus but now I am not so sure.

Good comfort and space. Reasonable running and servicing costs. A little heavy on fuel usage in mainly local running.

A very easy car to maintain and a no frills drive but very functional and great for carrying dogs as I do. Engine seems reliable but some of the bits and pieces ie central locking, signal lever, etc are not that reliable. However happy with the car for the amount paid.

This is the perfect car for me. I do huge mileage and it copes with everything I throw at it. It also serves as a van, a cafe, a dormitory, and sometimes even as a simple car. I love Fords and I would have another one like a shot. It is also predominantly mechanical so very easy to repair.
