My car is 14 years old ,is regularly serviced & has been the most reliable car (out of 6) that i have owned. It is economical to run, comfortable to drive & when it finally need replacing I will buy another Honda!

My Honda Civic S-Type is starting to show its age in terms of fuel consumption, features and comfort but I'm still happy enough with it not to be contemplating a replacement yet. That's just me, I don't change cars without a good reason and right now it is still very reliable and dependable. I'm happy with the performance. It isn't blistering but the 2 liter engine does confer lively overtaking performance and can be great fun if petrol consumption isn't an issue. Driving with a light right foot results in a mid 40 mpg figure here traffic free Powys but it will gulp the juice if you want to exploit those 2 liters. Comfort? So, so. Driving position is fine. Love the gearstick position. Love the convenience of the steering wheel radio controls. Love the bucket seats. Not so happy about the rock hard suspension but hey, this does make cornering nice and tidy. Just take care over speed bumps and potholes especially if you have low profile tyres fitted. Two big grumbles. Firstly, the dreadfully large turning circle makes parking a chore, especially in crowded supermarket car parks. My large VW camper is much easier to park. Secondly, the steering feedback is lousy. There just isn't much of it. It feels lifeless. In summary...this car is a keeper for now. There's a few small rust patches but mechanically it is fine and still fun to drive.

The new diesel engine is stunning, car drives well and the 1st reaction to the claimed economy rate is very positive Claim 78 mpg So far on shortish journeys getting 66 mpg On longer runs I expect this to beat 70 mpg The car is very well made - and by UK people in Swindon - Great! The technology in the cabin is really impressive SatNav works well - Bluetooth link to mobile phone really easy USB port handy Only one concern - lack of a spare wheel May have to buy a space saver

Old model Civics are great for their reliability have only had one failure to start and that was my fault, left the lights on. It's done 130,000 miles now but still runs as sweet as the day I got it I have a seal problem around the doors but I don't feel that the car is worth the expense of replacement now. Overall a great driving experiance and a great servant.

My Honda Civic car has been totally reliable, extremely comfortable and I think economic.

Comfortable, pretty reliable and a good performer, with plenty of adaptable space inside. Could offer better running costs and the spoiler halfway up the rear windscreen may look pretty but dangerously diminishes visibility.

Bought just before retirement, with a view to it lasting for as long as I can still drive. So far after 44000 miles during 8 years it shows every sign of doing the job. It is a good engine, although not as economical as more recent designs, it has been reliable and is still a pleasure to drive.

I have found the Honda Civic 2.2 diesel to be a very good car indeed and have no complaints what-so-ever,with the exception of operations of the windscreen wipers (the intermittent sweep function stops working after a while and will not park correctly)and changing the off-side headlight bulb is a real pain (I had to remove the radiator expansion tank to gain access) For a car of it's size, the fuel economy is good (we average about 52 mpg, it is comfortable, spacious and easy to drive. There is also plenty of power available when needed. Overall, a car I would recommend to anyone.

Touch wood it has been reliable and I will will keep it as long as possible as I see no reason to change as it does all I need it to do. I remember about 50 years ago the AA said in a report that the cheapest way to run a car was keep it as long as possible as that kept all the costs of changing down.

Generally satisfied with car. Main sources of dissatisfaction: - lack of rear wipers - rather hard suspension. You feel every bump.

A practical, robust, reliable & stylish car. Only slight drawback is that this model's a bit underpowered.

My Honda is over 15 years old. It has done nearly 153,000 miles. It is comfortable and reliable. ! was annoyed to discover that Honda don't produce continuation pages for the Service History Booklet after 126,000 miles. They should be proud of their "oldies".

There are a number of design flaws. Poor visibility when reversing and front windows need a rear was wipe (despite claims it would clear by itself as drive along). Went through three batteries in the first year - gave up on the Japanese batteries and now use an AA fitted battery. The fuel cap would not open and my Honda dealer was unable to rectify this after three attempts - changed Honda dealer and new dealer fixed straight away. Air Con failed after 5 hers and Honda dealer was unable to fix (as did not know what was wrong) and could only suggest replacing the whole system (at a cost of £2700). Not my best car purchase.

The vehicle is 8 years old and annual mileag around 3,000. Very economical on longer journeys but not so for town driving. Main expense is servicing costs which work out at two or three times the basic sevice cost every year. Most endearing feature has been utter reliability.

I've had the car for 5 years 1 month. A couple of minor warranty issues fixed by dealer, Shepton Mallet Motors. Otherwise rear brake discs have been replaced at 53XXX miles, fronts still originals at 55XXX. Only 1 sidelight bulb has been replaced. The engine is brilliant, consistently around 52-5 MPG, only twice ever under 50 (both 49,2) it's smooth and very powerful. There is loads of room for luggage, and the "Magic Seats" are excellent. The passenger sections are roomy and comfortable, although I find the driver's seat not as good as I had initially thought. I have the SE model, without lumbar support adjustment, which would be much better. The seat back adjusts for rake only with a ratchet, I would much prefer a twist handle adjuster. The rear suspension on these models is harsh, but apparently better on the later style vehicles. The car drives as well as the day I collected it, totally reliable. No rattles or squeaks, very happy.

I love my Honda. I go for a drive often just for the fun of it. It's comfortable and safe and I feel at home in it. Compared to my last car I only visit petrol stations half as often. My son has a Civic Type R and we are both great fans of Honda yuasa racing in the B.T.C.C. Its Hondas all the way!

Has this for nearly two months and it is an improvement on the previous model as the visibility is much better.

I am a Honda devotee and have owned several, all of which have been very pleasing in every way!

Reliable. Not too comfortable on long journeys. Reversing and parking difficult. Poor turning circle.
