Having had a Renault clio from new in 2003, it has required very little work, except from that recommended in the Haynes manual. It is comfortable on winding or bumpy roads but is a good positive drive that responds quickly. For the last few years car tax has been £20 per annum, and the diesel engine is very fuel/cost efficient.

Good and versatile, though showing its age. I prefer a small car with auto transmission

nice car at a good level

Although I probably wouldn't have chosen this car if I'd had more cash to spend and it's not the fastest or prettiest car I've owned, the Clio has been a good little workhorse and has suited my needs well. The level of equipment on the model I own is good and the engine size means it is extremely economical to run. I would probably consider buying a newer version when it comes to replacing.

Excellent car and will probably continue to buy Clios in the future. Only one negative aspect; I have to use a car "booster" seat when driving as I find I'm sitting too low down without it. I'm not a tiny person either being 5 feet 3 inches tall.

1200 engine, alright on the flat but sluggish up hills. Never get a 3 door car again. Too difficult getting passengers into the back seat. The car has so far been reliable, but I only do about 2000 miles per year. The car is now 3 years old and has only done 7500 miles. I would buy the car again, but with 4 doors.

My 2007 Clio III Dynamique S has been such an easy car to own and drive. In 6 years it has done over 100,000 miles and apart from the 70k cambelt replacement, which was a bit of en eye watering bill, has been very cheap to maintain and service. It has spent a lot of time being driven more like a Land Rover than a hatchback, and has put up well with being used and abused on country lanes and dirt tracks. Everybody who is a passenger in it, including some elderley relatives, finds it very comfortable and it's certainly easy to drive on 300+ mile journeys. It has even survived one side of it being dropped off a foot high concrete ledge in a farmyard when it slid after being parked on sheet ice! Whilst I don't advise trying this on a regular basis, the only issue it left was the damaged door sill ruined the front passenger side jacking point - but when I say it's survived some abuse it really has! The only thing that I have encountered with this particular model which has made me give it a star less for practicality, is that when coming up with the 's' version, Reanult put wider alloys on without changing anything else within the wheel area. Subsequently, when on full lock, the edge of the tyre rubs the inside of the wheel arch which can cause slightly uneven wear. But then again, I did chose the 's' for it's slightly more sporty look so can't really have it both ways. I am only considering changing this car because of it's mileage, and am very reluctant to do so. The only cars currently under consideration are either things which are significantly larger than a hathback (i.e. an actual land rover!), or the gorgeous looking new Clio. This has been such a good car to own that changing it is very easy to put off.

The car is used to tow my miniature steam engines locally which it does safely, that weigh up to 300 K together with the trailer a combined 550K braked. We also use it to holiday in France using its cruise control on French motorways, driving down to the Med, in comfort with econmy, returning 68MPG. Also to do the local journeys, I find that after early teething problems is very reliable

I've only had the car for 3 months but am really enjoying driving it. I am really pleased with the mpg and how the cost of my daily commute (50 miles round trip) has reduced. Still getting used to the technology as my last car was over 10 years old but finding it very easy and comfortable. Build quality seems good and it is certainly a sleek shape. Only problem is a blind spot when reversing - at end of rear passenger window

I have driven Renault Clio's since their launch. Faulty sun roof Suspension problems Renault servicing very expensive/ Was perfect size but now swamped by larger cars and commercial vehicles. However I do not like the trend to larger and larger cars and certainly do not like the new Clio. In view of this If I buy a new car it is likely to be one of the smaller non-European produced cars.

I am very happy with my car, which is our second car. As well as using it for short journeys, we also use it for longer journeys to keep the mileage down on our Land Rover & it is more economical.

It's my first new/nearly-new car, so I may be a little biased but I really enjoy having a reliable car that I would be happy to drive from Land's End to John O' Groats. It's economic at around 50MPG overall.
