good size family car good milage per gallon only problem i have with this car is it is not very responsive you have to build up speed gradualy and i would be very wary of overtaking on country roads because of this.

A generally reliable workhorse as well as we'll-designed and equipped/comfortable. Main problems that have arisen we're niggly electrical ones ('weird' Renault electrics seem to be fairly notorious). Tough engines - mine's a dti. Will replace soon as approaching 150k and bodywork beginning to deteriorate around wheel arches, need something reliable with less impending maintence.

One of the main concerns is the overall cost of parts when having to repair vehicle. fuel economy leaves a lot to be desired. Overall comfort is reasonable.

One family owned. 78,000 miles. Still original battery. Still original exhaust except for cat which was ruined by garage overfilling oil by 50% at service at 25,000 miles. Original 4 tyres averaged 46,000 miles each. Spare not used. 39 mpg overall. Scheduled servicing only except for 1 No. Engine Mounting,Front Brake Discs, 1 No. ruined Cat. The only gripe in almost 12 years is the ridiculous amount of work required to change the catalytic converter.

The fuel consumption is not as good as I was led to expect from the brochure. Nevertheless it is better than my previous car - a 1400cc petrol engine Scenic (1999). Other than that I have been very pleased with the car.

Comfortable spacious family car, economic on fuel but emissions take it into higher bracket road tax and resident parking permits.

all in all its not a bad car, The engine could be better in the economy side. There has been odd faults but they seem to be common, heater, wipers, door buttons ODDS AND SODS, but having the car over 6 years I have put all kinds in it from people,Good job it has 7 seats and countless trips to the tip with all kind of junk ,if I could get a good deal and I could afford it probably get another

I love this Renault scenic. Loads of leg space especially for rear passengers. We are both tall and need lots of leg room for front and rear seat passengers - brilliant. Big boot space and easy to fold rear seats making boot even bigger. Seats easily taken out if required even more space. Under floor secret spaces for packing away shopping. Under front seat drawers useful. Nice high seats making getting in and out easy - I hate the low drop of many other saloons. Also love the flat floor between left and right hand sides - means extra comfort for rear passengers. Reliability - excellent - had it serviced as per recommendations and has proved to be a real pal. Now in its 8th year with 87,000 on clock - runs sweetly. I would not change it until necessary, and will choose the same model next time. Space, economy, reliability, comfort - it has it all. Any downers? Narrow middle rear seat, difficult to view front windscreen from rear seats (travel sickness?).

Although it is getting on in years now, I've had this car 8 years and thoroughly enjoyed driving it with no major breakdowns. It has a brilliant driving position giving good all round visibility. The boot is very generous and the suede effect seats are comfortable. All rear seats fold forward to give even more boot space. The three seats can be split individually. This particular model is the 'Fidji' and has many storage compartments within the car. The engine, although a little sluggish sometimes, is very quiet especially at idling speed. It has 2 position steering wheel, electric windows front and rear, electric mirror adjustment, air con (with option to utilise this in a stowage compartment as a cool box!) Although car tax is expensive because of the age of the car, I would not change it for a newer model for all the reasons listed.

The megane Scenic is a very good car for people with back trouble as it is easy to get in and out of the car. There is plenty of room for passengers & also luggage. Added storage in floor is handy for childrens games etc. boot is really large, with handy storage for de icer etc

This is the second Scenic I have owned and I have been very pleased with both of them with very little maintenance required other than the normal annual service.

I bought the car second hand in 2009. By then it had done 21000 miles. Looks good. Spacious inside. Good seat arrangements. Very good luggage space.Expensive to maintain and service. Quite heavy on petrol (I'm getting 35.6mpg.) Clumsy for parking - has very wide turning circle and awkward to change position parking, especially reverse into a parking space at Tesco! Visibility over the bonnet and through rear window are not good.A niggle with the particular model I own is the auto door locks. They are very temperamental.

If you need space not speed, comfort not caché and economy not energy, then the Renault Scenic is for you. It is the ideal car for my young family (and giant Newfoundland dog!) and even at nearly 9 years old has so far proved very reliable in the 6 months I've had it. Keep it serviced, treat it gently and it should last you until your kids are old enough to go without baby seats / booster seats. Also has enough gadgets to keep a man interested. :)

We like this car especially because it is higher off the ground and much easier for the elderly (us) to get into and out of. It has plenty of leg (and luggage)room.

The car is new so cannot comment yet on the running costs.

I bought my Renault Scenic brand new in 2005 and every year for the last three or four years I have talked about getting rid of it and buying another new car. However, it has been so reliable and still looks so smart (and costs hardly anything in repairs) that I can't bring myself to do it. The trade-in value now is so ridiculously low (offered £1200 by the Renault dealer in July 2013 when looking at buying a new Captur)that it has been kept for another year and is still doing a great job. To be fair, I have always had it serviced by the main dealer and have done fairly light mileage, so maybe my experience is not typical but I would happily recommend this car to anyone.
