Comfortable, reliable and practical. Not the fastest vehicle on the road or the most economical ( automatic / petrol ), but adequate for current road conditions and my personal requirements.

This car is my 4th Vauxhall. I am very disappointed because it has very little power, all my other Astra's have been 1400hp and have had much more power than this one ! I travel 23 miles to work and am now unable to overtake because of this !!

Nice car for the money

Mostly used by single driver for 70 mile round trip commute - mix of motorway and B roads. 1.4 engine surprisingly quick with turbo. Need to use revs to get the best which knocks the mpg down a lot - nowhere near the advertised figures. Poor front quarter side view due to the A pillars - they obscure a lot of road when going through sweeping bends or roundabouts. Very good driving position and extremely quiet at motorway speeds due to 6th gear. Good instrumentation but be aware only the very top of the range has all the bells and whistles, although mine has the buttons and steering wheel controls for hands free via bluetooth its a non fitted optional extra and quite expensive as an after market fitment.

as a mechanic i have had a few makes of car as well as driven many others but vauxhall soots me well from the comfort point of view i would not say it was any more reliable than say a ford but i just prefer the driving position my wife also has a corsa which she has had for 9 years now she has grown attatched to it

Although I miss my Frontera, this saloon was smooth and fast. Trouble free for a while but then the flat battery's started, which is a nuisance as the windows wont shut. Then the boot wouldn't open. Then it was full of water under the floor [lots of sloshing noises]. Then the dreaded lid got stuck half way . Then it lost power and my emission light came on. Limped home and a wonderful AA man came and declogged a valve full of diesel debris and I was off again. BUT it is a good drive, and IF the lid goes down , it's great.. [ My 28 year old ford capri has been less trouble!!]

A generally good car has been spoiled for me by the introduction of a 'push-button' handbrake, one of the silliest 'improvements' ever! I have owned several previous Astras, but would not buy another unless Vauxhall revert to a car where I feel more in control when doing a hill-start.

In spite of the fact that this car would now be thought of as "old", the design has not dated and although it has let me down a couple of times in recent years I have preferred to spend money on reviving rather it than buying something else.

A good running car. Does not need a lot of time spent on servicing. Road tax and insurance, and fuel are the most expensive

You get what you pay for. Opal build quality and nippy for a little diesel. 18" wheels and low profile tyres make it hard work in winter and year round it's very twitchy with a hard ride, which is not a criticism if that's what you want. Biggest problem I've had is that EGR valve can be an unnecessary and expensive nuisance. That said, overall I've enjoyed owning it.

I am happy with the car overall, however I find the engine lacks power when accelerating away from junctions etc.

Stylish, comfortable, reasonably economical and very practical. A bit more power through the gears wouldn't go a miss but the option is there with the bigger and turbo engines. Best as a second hand buy due to heavy depreciation unless you keep it for at least 5 years.

Vauxhall is a very good make car, we are really pleased with our car, apart from the general changing if tyres an lightbulbs, our car has been very reliable since we purchased it 4 years ago.

I have never bought a Vauxhall car before because I had read so many bad reviews but I bought this pre-registered car because it was such good value. I have been very pleasantly surprised. I much prefer it to previous Ford models that I have owned. It is very reliable, comfortable and good value for money. I will look at the Vauxhall range again next time I change my car.

I have driven almost a quarter of a million miles in my current car in relative comfort, reliably and reasonably economically. I would highly reccomend it to anyone.

Only had the car 6 months, after leaving a company car scheme. So far very please. Would have gone for BiTurbo or Elite, but SRi had a price deal. Thought about Estate, but road tax difference persuaded me to have the hatch. Would include the DAB option next time. Nice to drive, fuel efficient; selected options add some nice touches, essential for me. Currently driving about 2000 miles a month and it uses half the fuel of the old one. Boot sufficient for our needs; takes everything for 2 week holiday in Europe. It did breakdown at 12 weeks ( dead fuel injector ) but was very well dealt with by Vauxhall, who arrange a replacement vehicle in under 24hrs to take to Europe on holiday the next day - once I got hold of the right person. Local dealer, where car was AA recovered to, were useless. Instead supplying dealer were excellent and provided contact details used to get Vauxhall Warranty support. I now REFUSE to use local dealer ever again, preferring to drive the 15 miles to the supplying dealer. Bottom line, buying and running a car is never going to be cheap and this suits our current needs very well. Still a bit nervous about the lack of spare wheel, but it seems to be the way everyone is going .....

A good family vehicle with enough power and adequate spce for a moderate amount of luggage.

owned for 3 years kept up with annual service at main dealer no problems as yet only wearable parts replaced- tyres, disks, pads and alternator belt in my own opinion its ok not much to look at from the outside but inside its ok being the top model leather seats electric everything. fuel economy is great if driven carefully i can get just about 800 miles out of a full tank of fuel!!
