Pleasantly pleased about the drive and handling. Enough room to take a single bed with the rear seats down. Reasonably economical if sensible. Fast enough to show up some gti's. Keep an eye on the alternator, fly wheel and the water pump. Genuine parts are cheap enough. Enough equipment, but could do with more storage places. Love the sport button. Would recommend.

Bought new, a good reliable car, good value for money. Reliability: so far so good but I am not a high mileage driver. So far, would buy another.

This is my 3rd Vauxhall Astra Estate, and I have lamented the passing of each one. The first 2 were company cars and I had no choice in the matter. The current is privately owned and the only 2 things missing are;decent ventilation system (very slow to heat up and so takes a long time to clear damp from inside windscreen in winter) and a heated drivers seat. Will be buying newer version again once this one gives up. Have only ever had to replace consumables (bulbs, tires, wiper blades, brake pads etc) and for the first time 2 months ago , the alternator. A good little work horse.

This is my 4th Astra, and up to this latest model I have always been very happy with them I have been very disappointed with this latest model Visibility, particularly around the periphery is poor - resulting in some near misses It is hard to judge how much room you have around you when parking It struggles to go up hills without changing down several gears The boot space is less than previous models

Seat comfort/design and instrumentation have been upgraded considerably since I bought my previous car of the same make.Good handling characteristics, although possibly lacks a little in acceleration, but this doesn't really matter to me.

Very rugged and reliable car. However still too many minor components and decoration made from cheap plastic which strts to break up from day 1. Guarantee non reliability of all plastic components.

Found the car to be reliable, comfortable and economical. bigger compared to another manufacturer of a similar size of vehicle, I found that the Astra was more spacious inside and the boot space larger.

My Astra is very reliable, it is not fast at accelerating but quick enough for a family car. I can use it to transport most things and it is very economical to run with low Tax, fuel efficient ( 50+ miles to the gallon). It looks good and is easy to maintain with parts easily available. Brilliant car.

Excellent, automatic transmission is very smooth

Boot space small, entrance to boot rather awkward. Dials to heater, air conditioning, etc. in a very awkward position. Can't see them, clearly in daylight, although lit when headlights are on.

It is simple and rugged.Good ammount of poke. Practical and comfortable. Utterly bomb proof. No silly gadgets or computers.

The Vauxhall Astra is a great running car , realiable , spacious, not bad on the fuel as for a full tank i can get approx 300/350miles and only costs around £45. This would do my husband and i for work, he works nights and i work days.. I can also get 2weeks shopping in the boot and still have room for more. Would recommend as a good family car.

On my test drive I was really impressed with the handling. The finanance deal and service I got from the dealers was excellent. I also use it for occasional towing and find its behaviour impecable. Some of the interior fittings are a bit fragile but otherwise Owning it has been an enjoyable experience.

Only ever had petrol cars but now got a diesel car and I get so much more milage out of it. The astra did at first seem small inside but it is compact and very reliable.

I have an Astra Breeze fully automatic. It has a very low mileage and while it might be a little more expensive to run than a smaller car, I only do about 3,500 approx. miles per year. Because of this I chose a car that is very easy to drive and is very comfortable for short and long journeys and the extra cost is affordable for me. I do drive it very carefully to maximise the fuel consumption, but at my age I am past wanting to drive in any manner that would mean a large consumption. I am more interested in the comfort and reliability than in how fast it will go.
