its running costs are very good but we would like one s a bit higher up has we find it low to get out has we are getting older but other than that a great car very reliable and cost of running it is very low

The Astra sri is a great car. I've never had a problem with it in the 4 years of ownership. It has great economy, approaching 50 mpg, teamed with good pokey performance and comfortable enough for long distance motoring

Having owned my Astra for 12 years I have no complaints whatsoever. It has never failed an MOT and still goes like a bird.

My car has lasted well after 12 years driving use. The car tax bill is very high. I should get a smaller greener car, but rely on the good acceleration with my present model. I am 66 and only do about 4000 miles each year,so not likely to change my car unless it develops a major fault.

Vauxhall have come a long way since I owned one or two many years ago, This car has style, comfort and is very well-appointed.

Dependable. The only part which had to be replacedwas the exhaust gas recycle valve, which had become stuck. Thw fuwl consumption is 8.9 miles to the litre, which I consider good especially my journey distances are normally less than 20 miles at a time . Although I have had tge car since 2002, I do not intend to change it for at least another 3 years

A good reliable car. Cheap to run. It gives me economy around town and a degree of comfort and flexibility on motorways and the open road. Insurance is reasonable, and repairs and maintenance are also fairly reasonable.

Owned this vehicle for 3 months, (18 months old when purchased). The comfort, ride and practicality of the vehicle is excellent, perhaps the best vehicle I have ever owned. One criticism; the 'A' posts hinder visibility at junctions due to their width and the angle of the body panel/ door.

MY car was everything I wanted from it - practical, fast enough and completely reliable - until the Vauxhall agent serviced it this year. They blew the engine and put in a reconditioned one and now the car is unreliable and lacking pace. A great shame.

I was persuaded into buying a lower cc than my previous car & told with new technology it would equate. This was rubbish as this car has no guts & struggles to climb hills, making it necessary to change down to 2nd gear sometimes. On the plus side it is quiet & comfortable.

Good points are: Being the VXR the performance is 0 to 60 in 6 seconds, the road holding is brilliant and the stiff suspension gives no roll. The Seats are very comfortable Very neutral handing with slight under steer and lift off over steer. The brakes are extremely good. The keyless ignition is very good. A fun car to drive. Bad points are: poor view out the back and size of blind spots are large The seat is too high. Torque steer is large. The windscreen is too low I am 5'10" and have trouble seeing past the mirror unless I recline the seat. The tires are the same as used on BTCC cars and are poor on snow. On a Motorway run I get 34 m/g with an average 30 m/g and the urban figure is 27 m/g

Great looking car with 19" alloys and vxr pack. Mpg no were near manufacturers figures getting 47 with very little town driving. Interior is the biggest plus point very comfortable and nice low driving position. The heater is not so good takes an absolute age to clear inside of screen on a cold morning and get cold drafts when going round corners. Other than that great car same again for me next time but disappointed bi turbo GTC has been withdrawn.

I have had this car from new, it was a company car which I bought when the car was sold. I have only had usual wear and tear issues with her and although she is bodily a bit shabby is a good workhorse. The Diesel engine is economical and she gives a comfortable ride.

I have had this car now for over five years and it now has clocked up over 127,000 miles and is still running on the same clutch although now starting to judder. Tax is low at £120.00 a year and i average 45mpg. Car design is fairly robust and it will withstand everyday family knocks and minor off road trips. At higher mileage alternator and battery will fail and require replacing quiet expensive but did myself. Would strongly recommend lower mileage example. Mark Hensby Hampshire.

A very reliable car for its age. Not as economical on petrol as the newer models but good compared to other similar types of cars of the same vintage. Next car will probably be a newer model of the same but reluctant to change as insurance on this age of car is quite low and nobody would want to steal it and it wouldn't be attractive to joy riders. Will only change when we have to. Previous car was also an Astra.

Extremely comfortable and quiet. Great every-day car, no faults and comes with a lifetime warranty. Petrol consumption could be better but other than that a perfect and reliable vehicle.

I have wanted to try an Astra Coupe for years, 3 months ago I finally got around to it. I am more than happy with it. It is quick enough without being too flash and attracting the wrong kind of attention. With a mix of driving (commuting and a few long runs) I have been getting 36 mpg and so far it has proved to be comfortable and reliable

This vehicle has proved invaluable. It has been used to move furniture, go on holidays, transport flat pack furniture, and has even been the family trash wagon to take recyclable goods to the recycle site. I can't imagine not having an estate, and the Astra fits the bill
