Vauxhall Vectra reviews

I like Vauxhalls so I'm a bit biased but the Vectra still looks good in 2013. It's happiest cruising the motorways of Britain and is very smooth on those roads. There are all manner of useful devices to make the journey even more comfortable so it is a good if slightly unexciting car. With 18" alloys it looks the part although I'm not convinced they greatly improve the handling.

I have had it from new and I am very satisfied with all aspects. My local dealer gives excellent service.

Good runner and reliable, but too many problems with bushes and a faulty ABS light on the dashboard, had it checked out now 3 times, but no fault was found

I purchased the car to tow my caravan and for camping trips. The performance is very impressive from the 1.9 diesel engine. The space in the car is excellent and the running costs are very good considering the size of the vehicle. The reliability however is very poor, my car has 65k on the clock and I've had numerous problems with this car. No3 injector wiring loom (misfire symptoms) EGR valve and inlet manifold replaced Throttle housing replaced Crank shaft sensor replaced Rear springs replaced Heater controls replaced I would not recommend this model as all the items listed seem to be common faults with this vehicle.

I have found the car to be very expensive on urban driving, but economical on long distances, it is comfortable, and speedy to drive.

Apart from usual wear and tear had only a few problems. Had to have air con replaced as it is situated just behind the radiator and subject to damage from stones.

Best car ever bought, excellent value and reliability. Petrol version, I would never buy desel. Cannot understand why people by German cars ,Vectra and Vauhall are the tops. Very sad it has now been replaced by Vauxhall.

Fairly comfortable fast average economically

SXI has good spec but now that it's 11 years old it's apparent that it is not very economical when compared with current models on market. Fuel consumtion around town is poorish (20-22 mpg) and road tax is expensive. I'll be switching to a diesel Ford Mondeo or Focus very soon to reduce runiing costs, especially road licence fee!

Big boot, good on fuel, does the job!

Sri model comfortable recaro type seats with good handling and 140 bhp of power. Fuel consumption from 33 to 48mpg depending how you drive. a very reliable car with lots of safety features including blanket airbags and xenon headlamps etc. Recommend strongly

No major faults. Good economy on a long journey, less so around town. Comfortable. Big boot but can be limiting for large objects as not a hatch.

Excellent car just keeps on going does 40 mpg has done 124000 miles huge boot space useful when moving student children to / from uni

This car fits all my needs at the present.

a very nice car to drive it handles very well is economical to run and service overall I am very pleased with it .The only gripe I have with it is that for such a popular car the price of replacement tyres should be cheaper

Had the car 4 years, been a reliable motor, enough space for my requirements and if driven "carefully" can achieve excellent mpg.

I've had the car for over 10 years. Only had minor problems which I have repaired myself. It's a shame manufacturers have made it more and more difficult to do you own repairs/servicing. The car has done more than is expected so I cannot complain. The 10 out of 10 rating says it all.

This has been a reliable vehicle & reasonabley comfortable vehicle since i have owned it over the last 3 & a half years & with 236 thousand miles on the clock it is still going strong with good economy.

It has always been good to me.

Good on fuel, fast enough, has been reliable.
