I bought this vehicle new in December 2011. After a while I noticed that the fuel consumption I was achieving was nowhere near the published figures. I contacted the dealership who assure me that ther was no fault with the vehicle and suggested that I monitor the fuel consumption. This I have done since July 2012 and having contacted Vauxhall Customer Care and the Dealership on many occasions, with the vehicle returned for further testing I am still monitoring the fuel consumption which with the vehicle having travelled over 9900 miles,I can still only average 33 mpg. Am I being too ambitious in hoping to achieve better?

Very good car, and reliable and comfortable.

my little corsa is great - easy to drive, easy to park. there's plenty of room in the boot and it has the perfect place for my sunglasses in-between the front seats just behind the handbrake. the driver's seat has height adjustment as well as forward/back and seat back options. it's easy to clean - well, my husband does it. he says i drive like a pedestrian (or did he say geriatric?) so my fuel consumption is excellent. it doesn't accelerate very quickly at all so i enjoy relaxed driving - there's no point in getting hot under the collar at the driver in front. my little corsa is the second one i've driven; the first was very reliable also. i would certainly consider a third - when the time comes.

Excellent larger 'small car' with more gadgets than I'm likely to use! Is economical around town (44mpg) and on a run 47mpg). Feels wider than it should so takes 3 on the rear seat with ease. Driver comfort is excellent also.

Nippy little car, does the job running around town and fairly roomy for a small car

The new corsa which has the larger body size is slightly underpowered, which shows when driving up hills in local driving and long inclines when driving on motorways compared to the earlier modles.

corsa active can be noisy but not bad for the price paid. However compared to other cars of the same group it is poor for extras as standard. No spare wheel is a disgrace, who ever thought that one up should be sent to Siberia. This is my 5th Vauxhall but after checking Kia and Nissan dealerships I doubt I will buy another,

Pros Our car has served us very well; it's Reliable, Economical, has good all round vision, good boot and cabin space: and despite it's age no sign of rust. Cons Can be sluggish at times poor exceleration when laden.

I am very pleased with my Corsa except for one thing. I chose a small engine to keep running costs down, but the fact is that the car body too large for the size of the engine so going uphill is a struggle and I am sure what you would save in petrol is lost because of the engine dragging a too big body around. It labours uphill and I have to change down to 2nd gear before the car can cope. Other than that, it is fine.

I brought this car second hand and have had it for 10 months. It is comfortable and easy to drive and a good runabout. It is cheap to run in respect of fuel, however, being an older car cost more in road tax, £77 for six months as opposed to £30 per year that my husband pays for his newer car. It has proved to be very reliable even through a very cold winter. It has proved to be good on long runs after 2 recent long trips from the East Midlands, one to Essex and Kent and also to Southport. Overall, apart from the cost of road tax, I am happy with this car.

As I am now over 86 years of age, most of my driving these days is local, and of short distances. In this respect I am not sure that my choice of a diesel powered car was the best one; however I am very satisfied with the vehicle which meets all my personal requirements. During the summer I made one or two journeys of about 100 miles without encountering problems of any kind. The vehicle handles well in all traffic conditions, and cruises happily at 70 mph on motorways and other dual carriageways. Fuel consumption is around 50+ mpg on long journeys, and about 46 mpg on local journeys. Display panels are adequate, but not always easy to read after dark. Headlights are good, whether on main beam or dipped. Maintained by the local Vauxhall dealer, it has never failed me in any mechanical or electrical aspect. The all-round view of the road is excellent and I am not aware of any "blind spots". While I can happily sign the declaration below, I should nevertheless declare that my son is Service manager with the local Vauxhall agent, but he knows nothing about this communication and nr does his employer.

I find the corsa a very good car to drive, the running costs are very good, I average 62 mpg, the tax and insurance are cheap and the performance for a small engine is exceptional.

Fairly cheap to run. Cheap to buy due to partners scheme. Would prefer more comfort and accessories but can't afford it.

changed from astra to corsa to enable my wife to drive. She considerd that the Asta was too large, 1600cc

I find the car ideal for my purposes. My last three cars have been 1400cc Corsas

This is the 3rd 1.2 corsa I have owned Since 2000 and have not had a serious fault on any so far. Average 12000 miles per year shortest run 2 miles longest journey 900 miles to the south west of France at least once a year.Very reliable so my next car will be a corsa.

ok car. every other car overtakes me not matter what speed i am doing, its classed as a run a round and i am not taken seriously as a road user. The car is fine but I get bullied by other drivers in bigger cars.Regards Jenny

I was disapointed to find there wasn't a fuel/mileage calculator in the onboard computer when the Owners manuel gave all the instructions on how to use it. Apparently it was fitted to the model one uo from mine.

Catch securing rear passenger seat when in upright position broke and jammed the seat in upright position (preventing lowering of seat to increase boot space). Caused MOT to fail, expensive repair (I think about £120 or so from memory) and needless if the catch had been designed/built better. Internet search revealed seems to be a common problem, design fault. Also, because of the difficulty of access etc. and tools required, not a problem that can be fixed yourself unless exceptionally capable. Front grille fell off while on busy road, did not realize what loud noise was till later - so had to buy a new one (£27). Surely bits shouldn't just fall off (even if a stone or something hits it, which I guess was possible though will never know)? Plastic covering front seat belts when not in use (just behind each front seat) broken. Cheap fragile plastic. Other than those things, pleased overall. Comfortable even on long journeys, which is quite unexpected in a small car. Doesn't feel as small inside as it looks from outside. Boot space is not large when it comes to packing luggage - but just manage. Responsive and quite zippy if you want it to be.
